Star’s father says he’s left with no other choice than to be so vocal

Not many are those who like Michael Lohan, mostly because he’s made a habit out of discussing with the media issues that he should probably keep private, such as his daughter’s alleged drug and alcohol problem and her hectic personal life. However, being liked is not on Mr. Lohan’s to-do list, as he tells Radar Online that it’s the only way he can coerce the freckled actress into seeing she needs rehab.

Mr. Lohan insists that all the talking that he’s doing in the media and that is mostly getting him criticism for being what tabloids are calling a “sell-out dad” is not without an ultimate purpose: that of forcing Lindsay herself and her mother Dina to see that she really needs rehab. Of course, that’s not to say that the claims he makes are not accurate or in any way exaggerated, for he truly thinks that his daughter will be dead within a year if she keeps going the way she has been until now.

“As far as Lindsay is concerned, if she goes into a rehab, I will stop.” Michael Lohan tells Radar in light of a statement coming from Dina, saying they are seeking a gag order against him. “But if the lies continue and the prescription drug use doesn’t stop, neither will I. To begin with, I have been trying for a year to help Lindsay with her problems PRIVATELY through Lindsay, her mom, her attorney Blair Berk and even her new attorney Shawn Holley and the courts. I have the records to prove it.” he adds, in response to Dina’s allegation that he never even attempted to talk to Lindsay in person.

“I wasn’t going to let people hear Dina’s drunken rants about Lindsay, and I certainly wasn’t going to let people hear anything about Lindsay, but now that Dina and Lindsay continue to lie and deny their problems, and even make up stories about me, NOW you will see and hear Lindsay’s calls and texts. I am NOT the liar, they are. Hopefully then, they will realize how deceptive and in denial they are and finally realize that lying and denial are part of their addictions. I am sorry I had to take this route, but I have tried and tried to help Linds and I have been lied about long enough.” Mr. Lohan further says.

In other words, he points out he’s been left with no other alternative to help his daughter than to dish out every personal detail about her to the tabloids. In response, Lindsay insists her father doesn’t really know which is which, that they haven’t been in contact for many months in a row and that he’s basically trying to cash in on her in the lowest, most despicable manner imaginable.
