Michael Lohan, the legally troubled father of actress and occasional singer Lindsay Lohan, is again speaking out on the issues his daughter reportedly has with drugs, alcohol and a bad influence from her entourage. According to Mr. Lohan, the way she’s going right now, Lindsay doesn’t have much to live, perhaps one year tops, the New York Daily News reports.

Fans will remember that this is not the first time that Lindsay’s father is going public with issues he should perhaps keep out of the tabloids and save for a special father-daughter talk. However, he has only the best intentions at heart, he insists, because he has run out of ideas for ways to convince Lindsay that only bad things can happen to her next if she continues living like she has until now.

“It could be a year, a month, a week – who knows?” Michael Lohan said in a recent interview about the possibility of a “deadline” for Lindsay if she didn’t make a change soon. “She has a plethora of medicine you can’t mix and can’t drink with. She needs long-term rehab. I fear the worst. Look at Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger – who was a close friend of hers.” the concerned father further added.

Lindsay, on the other hand, is singing an entirely different tune, the same publication also mentions. While Michael Lohan claims he’s repeatedly begged and pled with the star to seek professional help for her issues, Lindsay says the two haven’t even had contact for many months. So, instead of doing the media rounds and selling lies about her personal life, perhaps Michael should focus on being a real father to his daughter, Lindsay says.

“I’m so hurt that someone who calls himself my father needs to use the press to communicate with me. It’s so sad that he needs to stay in the media spotlight by using my name and making up excessive lies. He should instead try to be a real father.” Lindsay said a while ago in response to some of her father’s comments to the tabloids.
