As hype is starting to build up that the third film in the “Transformers” franchise will start shooting no later than May this year, director Michael Bay has been keeping busy these past few weeks in preparation for the moment. Not only that but, as he says in a post on his official website, he also did his bit to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti by taking part in a rescue mission.

In all fairness, details on the third “Transformers” film are scarce but they’re the only thing to come straight from Bay himself, meaning they’re reliable info. At the rate preparations are going, it could very well be that a start date for “Transformers” in May is highly likely and doable, sources in the movie industry are saying. What’s more, fans too are in for a surprise, with Bay hinting that the script will not stick to the same line as the first two films.

“Hello everyone,” Bay writes. “Busy scouting – Chicago, Detroit, and Washington D.C. for Transformers last week. Things are going well. The script is feeling very different from the other two. I ended my scout down in Miami this weekend to load my plane with 14 Florida Surgeons, specialists in various fields and flew them down to Haiti. We then returned with a planeload of a team of exhausted Miami Fire rescue. It is proving very difficult for these volunteers to get back home,” the director goes on to say.

As we also reported on countless occasions in the past, word in the industry has it that Bay will try to put a spin to the “Transformers” story, with most rumors saying that this will be achieved by having Megan Fox’s character killed off in the third installment. There is also another reason behind this decision, though, as Bay himself is said to have grown tired of Fox’s way of always shooting her mouth and making everybody involved in the project look bad in the media.

“The bubbleheaded bombshell’s recent comments blasting Transformers director Michael Bay as tough to work for than ‘Hitler’ – coupled with a scornful letter penned by members of the film’s crew, which slam Meg as an ungrateful brat – could cost the outspoken brunette her job in the upcoming third installment. Movie industry insiders tell In Touch Weekly, Michael is considering writing Megan out of the series in a gory death scene in the first few frames of Transformers 3 and replacing [her] with another gorgeous young actress,” PopCrunch wrote in October last year, as we also informed you at the time.
