The upcoming high definition version of Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker will support a four player cooperative mode, as confirmed by the creator of the franchise, Hideo Kojima.

Metal Gear Solid fans are in for a major treat this fall, as Konami confirmed that it's bringing a Metal Gear Solid HD collection, with three recent games in the series all remastered in high definition for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

The games included are Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, both originally released for the PlayStation 2 many years ago, as well as the more recent Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which appeared for the PlayStation Portable.

Now, a massive detail about Peace Walker HD has been revealed by Hideo Kojima, who confirmed via his Twitter account that a four-player cooperative mode is going to be included both on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 platforms.

What's more, it seems that four players can experience the game at the same time while the frame-rate remains at a solid 60fps, at least according to Kojima, who is expected to showcase more details in the following months, ahead of the collection's November release.

Konami is quite proud of its high definition efforts, which include not just the upcoming Metal Gear Solid collection, as well as next year's Zone of Enders one.

“The Metal Gear Solid games have been a huge success, and the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a stunning way to celebrate this most inventive and entertaining series,” explained Martin Schneider, General Manager for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH when the collection was first announced.

“Every aspect of the three games has been updated to ensure they look as fresh on their new host formats as they did when first released. Stealth fans should be prepared: November will mark the return of one of gaming and Konami’s most iconic series.”
