14 DAY TRIAL // Bigger than the shock of the announcement that Mel Gibson was divorcing his wife of 29 years was the confirmation that his girlfriend, Russian wannabe singer Oksana Grigorieva, was pregnant with his child. Mel and Oksana have split since then and the latest development would suggest that the breakup is far from an amicable one, as he’s just filed for a restraining order against her, Radar Online informs.
According to the paparazzi agency and celebrity gossip website, Mel has already filed the necessary papers to prevent Oksana from getting anywhere near him, but the reason why he may have done so remains unknown. The only two details that have managed to leak to the media are that the plaintiff is the actor / director, while the defendant is his former girlfriend and the mother of his 7-month daughter.
“Mel Gibson has filed a restraining order against the mother of his illegitimate seven-month-old daughter, Radar Online has learned exclusively. In a blockbuster development in his bitter break-up with Oksana Grigorieva, the 54-year-old actor lodged the paperwork under seal at the Los Angeles Superior Court in Downtown Los Angeles Thursday. The plaintiff is listed as Mel Gibson and the defendant is Oksana Grigorieva. Grigorieva was served the documents at her home in Sherman Oaks around 5pm Wednesday, Radar Online confirmed,” the e-zine writes.
Still, rumors making the rounds suggest the order may have something to do with the baby. “While the case is sealed – meaning the documents cannot be released to the public – Radar Online has learned the complaint centers around three issues and Gibson’s access to daughter Lucia. Gibson filed a temporary restraining order, a notice about a forthcoming court hearing and a notice of visitation rights and child custody. Gibson’s rep had no comment when contacted by Radar Online,” the report further says.
Mel and Oksana went their separate ways in April this year. While Mel has remained tight-lipped on the subject (as opposed to how talkative he was before Oksana gave birth), the Russian singer did give a few statements to the media regarding the split, even hinting at one point that they actually dated for more than 1 year – more like 3, starting with when Mel was still married.
