14 DAY TRIAL // A short while ago, word got out in the media that Hollywood star Mel Gibson had split from Russian singer and mother of his child Oksana Grigorieva. She personally confirmed the reports a short while afterwards, saying that the day would come when the whole truth would get out and people would stop thinking of her in such a negative light. The time has come for Oksana to tell her story, Glamour magazine says, citing excerpts of an interview with Hello! Magazine.
In an interview that is yet to see the light of day, Oksana goes into the specifics of the affair she had with the famous actor and director and says that, contrary to what people may believe, theirs was more than just a fling. To prove her point, she says they were not together for just one year, as it was previously maintained in the media, but for thrice that period of time. That is to say, she and Mel began seeing each other when he was still married to his wife of almost 30 years, and who filed for divorce from him presumably because of Oksana.
"We were very much in love. He was the biggest love of my life and that's what Mel always told me," Oksana says in the interview, as cited by the aforementioned publication. "The truth always comes out. We've been together three years - not one year as people have been writing," she adds. She then goes on to say that infidelity was not the reason why she was not with Mel anymore, but refuses to say which these were exactly. "The reasons I cannot talk about but it will come out at some point," she explains.
Back when she first confirmed reports of a split, Oksana also promised she would personally see to that the truth came out. At the time, she only stressed that she would forever be grateful to Mel for helping her so much with her music career, not only directing some of her music videos but also offering her the unique chance of being a producer on her debut album. For that and for many other things, she would always be grateful to Mel – but she would also speak the truth about their much mediated and even more criticized romance when the time was right for it.
“I am anxious to talk about children; it is more important for me than my relations with Mel,” Oksana said a while ago at a charity function for children. “But if you want to know I can tell you that after three years of relationship we have split up – suddenly and recently. Unfortunately, I cannot give you the reason. But you will find out everything quite soon. Here is the official version: We split up by mutual consent and we will raise our daughter together. She is currently with my mother in my Los Angeles home,” she added, as we also informed you.
