Mega Man 10 is now out on the WiiWare service from Nintendo and players can also look forward to picking it up from the PlayStation Network on March 11 and on the Xbox Live Marketplace on March 31. Capcom is also announcing the downloadable content for Mega Man 10, which is set to enhance the 2D retro gaming experience.

April 5 will see the launch of the so-called Bass Mode that can be obtained for the low price of 200 Nintendo Points, which is about 2 dollars, and will allow the player to go through the stages using Bass, one of the many rivals of Mega Man.

Then, players will also get three new Special Stages, each for one dollar. The first will arrive on April 5 and the other two on April 26 but Nintendo is not saying what will make the new stages different from those included in the original release.

The last piece of DLC is an Endless Attack Mode, which comes on April 26 for 300 Nintendo Points and will probably allow players to experience the game in a whole new way, with more complex stages and tougher enemies, if the same mode for Mega Man 9 is anything to go by. All the dates mentioned above are for the WiiWare version of the game and there will probably be a short delay before their release on the PlayStation 3 or on the Xbox 360.

Mega Man 10 tells the story of an outbreak of Robornza, the Robot Flu, and of the efforts of Mega Man to discover what has caused it and find a way to stop it forever. The gameplay mechanics are unchanged from earlier titles in the series and Capcom promises more memorable boss battles than ever. Proto Man is playable from the beginning in Mega Man 10 and the developers have also added an Easy Mode.
