The development team has officially confirmed that the now launched Medal of Honor will have two executables, one offering access to the single player and one dedicated to the multiplayer, allowing the team working on the first person shooter to make changes and additions to the two sides of the game independently.

A message on the official Twitter feed for Medal of Honor reads, “#MOH for the PC has two executables. One for single player and one for multiplayer.”

Since the early stages of development Electronic Arts has confirmed that the single player of Medal of Honor, focusing on Tier 1 Operators and their engagements in Afghanitan is developed by Danger Close, also known as EA Los Angeles while the multiplayer side of the game is being put together by DICE, the creators of Battlefield and Bad Company.

The separate executables will probably allow the two teams to make additions to the game without stepping on each others toes in the process.

The official Twitter feed also says, “We'll keep constantly stabilizing the #MOH servers as the influx of people increases,” encouraging people to pick up the game and hop online as soon as possible to get a stable multiplayer population going.

In the months leading up to the official launch date Medal of Honor has been assaulted by controversy for the developers decision to include the Taliban as a playable side in the multiplayer game, allowing players to be the insurgents and kill United States troops.

Electronic Arts solved the problem, on a superficial level, by changing the side of the enemy in multiplayer to “Opposing Force”, while keeping all their other characteristics aligned to that of the real life Taliban.

The main designer working on the game has stated that Medal of Honor needs to move at least 3 million copies to gamers in order to earn a sequel.

It's main competitor is Call of Duty: Black Ops, which comes in less than one month.
