Barely has BioWare revealed the existence of Mass Effect 3, and the studio has already begun hyping up the new role playing game that is set to appear at the end of next year.

By far one of the biggest announcements from last weekend's Spike TV Video Game Awards was the existence of Mass Effect 3, the last chapter in BioWare RPG trilogy.

The studio has now released a few details about the game, besides the ones revealed by the trailer, and it seems that the company is aiming to surpass the great success of both the original Mass Effect and its sequel, which appeared at the beginning of this year, for the PC and Xbox 360, and is getting ready to appear for the PlayStation 3 next month.

"At BioWare, we are always driving ourselves to improve and I firmly believe our best work is still ahead of us," said BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka.

"We could not be prouder of the team's accomplishments with Mass Effect 2, and are excited and humbled by all of the recognition the game has received so far. We can't wait to show you what the team is doing to make Mass Effect 3 an even bigger success."

During the Video Game Awards, Mass Effect 2 won the best Xbox 360 game award, as well as the Best Role Playing Game, while BioWare won the Best Studio one.

The title was also in the running for the Game of the Year prize, but that distinction was won by Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption.

Mass Effect 3 will be published by EA and appear for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at the end of 2011.

Until then, Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 will be launched on January 18 in the USA, while a demo for it will hit the PlayStation Network on December 21, in the US and one day later in Europe.
