Video game developer BioWare has announced that, from now on, it will only launch Operations for the multiplayer section of Mass Effect 3 every other week, because the development team needs time in order to make sure that it delivers the best possible experience for players.

The official statement on BioWare blog reads: “This weekend, April 20-22, we will not be hosting an N7 Operation. Moving forward we will be offering our N7 Operations every other weekend.

“We realize that we have thousands of N7 operators, and this new cadence will allow us to create and execute the best possible Operations for the community.”

The next Operation is planned for the April 27 - 29 period and will be called Exorcist, which might mean that players will be asked to eliminate Banshees on the battlefield.

The new Operation is confirmed for PC and for Xbox 360 players, and BioWare and Sony are working to also launch it on the PlayStation 3.

BioWare promises that the slowdown in the rhythm of Operations for Mass Effect 3 means that more content linked to the game will be delivered via the Alliance News Network and via the official website of the game.

After the fans have complained openly about the ending of Mass Effect 3, BioWare announced that it was working on downloadable content for the game that would clarify the fate of characters and other important questions.

The DLC is planned for launch during the summer, and some members of the team that worked on Operations for multiplayer might now be linked to that project.

Before Mass Effect 3 was launched in early March, the developers also suggested that they might expand the game universe via substantial DLC later during the year.

A part of the BioWare team is already engaged in the early development stages of Dragon Age III.
