Marketcircle Inc. has released a new version of its business productivity manager for iPhone and iPod touch, Daylite Touch. The app allows users to assess a project's status or an open sales opportunity, as well as delegate tasks to others, and track the status of tasks after they've been delegated.

To emphasize the power of Daylite Touch, which relies on Daylite 3.9, and Daylite Server (also released today), Marketcircle proposes the following scenario:

You're on the road with your iPhone and concerned about a large project or month-end sales objective, but checking in by email with everyone is proving too slow. It doesn't provide the big picture, much less allow you to dive into the real process. That scenario dramatically changes with the launch of Daylite Touch, Marketcircle Inc.'s award-winning iPhone / iPod touch business productivity application available today from Apple Inc.'s App Store. Besides the aforementioned features, Daylite Touch puts you right in the middle of the action starting with a convenient home screen that provides a snapshot of your business life today and tomorrow. Using the most advanced multi-user calendar on the iPhone, Daylite Touch does everything Daylite-driven managers expect to do on the road, Marketcircle claims.

"Already the US Census Bureau reports that 90% of all companies are small businesses, but with new rounds of big company layoffs, there will be even more small businesses and many of those will be Mac based," says Alykhan Jetha, CEO of Marketcircle. "These people deserve every competitive advantage to succeed and Daylite Touch together with Daylite 3.9 dramatically increases business productivity for Mac and iPhone equipped small businesses."

Main abilities of Daylite Touch include:

· create multi-user meetings · send out notifications · create appointments using multi-touch gestures on the calendar. · rotate the iPhone sideways to get a view of appointments for the coming week · a dedicated tasks screen gives you the ability to bulk edit tasks, create subtasks, and link tasks to projects, opportunities, and contacts · delegate tasks to other users and track the status of tasks after you've delegated them · an objectives screen displays both projects and opportunities · sort projects by due date or priority, and sort sales or other opportunities by close date, value, or probability · view a project or opportunity complete with linked contacts, tasks, notes, and relevant emails · contacts screen shows you the people and companies you do business with and lets you see the relationships they have with each other · Daylite Touch periodically syncs back to your office using EDGE, 3G, or WiFi.

As noted above, Daylite Touch needs Daylite 3.9 and Daylite Server to run. According to Marketcircle, Daylite 3.9 and Daylite Server are free upgrades for existing Daylite customers. The new Daylite Server features PostgreSQL, a more robust and scalable database engine replacing OpenBase, and includes the TouchSync system with remote wipe capabilities, a completely revamped offline sync system, and supports centralized licensing. Marketcircle has included sample data in Daylite Touch so users can try it out at no cost. For more information about Daylite Touch, Daylite 3.9, and Daylite Server, visit Marketcircle here.
