Mario Kart Wii, created by Nintendo, has managed to be the best sold videogame in the United Kingdom for another week, after last week the title went to number one about eight months since launch. The popularity of the game seems to be a result of increased advertising, better Nintendo Wii supplies and the coming of the Christmas holiday, when the game is seen as being a suitable gift.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training is at number two, up one spot, which means that Nintendo is dominating sales with one title for the Wii, and the other for the DS.

Call of Duty: World at War for the Xbox 360, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, is at number 3, down by one place. The game has managed to sell more than 1 million units since launch. Modern Warfare, the previous Call of Duty title, achieved the same number of sales in eight weeks, while World at War only needed four weeks. The PlayStation 3 version of the game is at number 6 in the sales chart, which means that on overalls sales, World at War is the best game in the United Kingdom.

Confirming Nintendo’s domination, Wii Fit and Wii Play are at number 4 and 5 in the chart, selling better than some of the most important releases of the holiday season.

Gears of War 2, from Epic Games, an Xbox 360 exclusive, is at number 7, staging a comeback after having left the top 10. Fallout 3, one of the best games of 2008, is at number 8, while another role playing game, Fable 2, is at number 9. A PlayStation 3 exclusive, Resistance 2, is at number 10.

With the big titles of 2008 pretty much already launched, it will be interesting to see how the chart will look from now until Christmas.
