14 DAY TRIAL // She’s always been very private about her life and she’s been twice more guarded about her pregnancy. Mariah Carey may be keeping the biggest secret from her fans: she’s having twins.
Of course, this is not yet confirmed in any way but it could be that Mariah herself blew the lid on this by revealing a bit more than she may have wanted in a recent interview, says Star magazine.
In other words, while she was doing media rounds to promote her holiday album, the diva may have revealed that she has more than one bun in the oven – like, twins.
“Mariah Carey may have a double dose of baby joy when she gives birth!” Star gushes. “The mom-to-be, who is expecting with husband Nick Cannon, may have let it slip that she’s having more than just one child,” the tab adds.
“While promoting Merry Christmas II You, Mariah said she sings songs from her new album to her baby bump,” Star further writes. So far, so good.
“In an interview with Radio Disney’s Ernie D. set to air Tuesday, Mariah jokes, ‘I just hope that they don’t turn out hating Christmas!’” the publication adds.
This, of course, begs the question: was Mariah really only joking or did she accidentally reveal that she’s having more than one baby? As Star puts it, “only time will tell.”
Of course, there is also the chance that Mariah is speaking of her unborn child as “they” because she doesn’t know yet whether it’ll be a boy or a girl.
When she confirmed she was pregnant, in a joint interview with Nick Cannon, the singer said she didn’t want to know whether she was having a daughter or a son because she wanted to be surprised at the delivery.
“Yes, we are pregnant – this is true. It’s been a long journey, but it’s been tough because I’ve been trying to have, like I said, to hold onto a shred of privacy, and that was not easy,” a beaming Mariah said at the time.
