Displays with resolution of 4K will become much less expensive

It might be because of poor demand, compared to media coverage, or because of the novelty wearing off, but Ultra HD TVs will be getting cheaper fast.

This is, of course, a great thing. After all, no one likes the idea that a TV is more expensive than a top-rank car.

We've already seen evidence: Sony's Bravia X9 don't sell for several thousand dollars/euro.

Anyway, a report says that UHD TV prices (TVs with 3840 x 2160 pixels resolution) will fall quickly now that the vendors in China have banded together to encourage this trend.

And since such vendors are located in that particular country, UHD TVs may soon sell for prices not too high compared to those of Full HD TVs (1920 x 1080 pixels).

Then again, Full HD TVs are getting cheaper too, so it might take longer than some hope for the new generation to replace them.
