True to the promise she made her fans earlier this year, Madonna has opened a new gym in Mexico City. Called Hard Candy after her latest album, the gym is a state-of-the-art exclusive location for all those who want the chance to get a body like the iconic singer’s.

As we also informed you at the time, while Madonna won’t be at the gym that often, subscribers have the wonderful opportunity of working out in a place she designed herself: from the colors of the paint on the walls to the floorboard brought all the way from China.

The big unveiling took place this Monday, with thousands crowding the streets in the hope of catching a glimpse of their favorite singer, even if they were less than interested in her fitness offering.

According to Fashion.ie, the diva was at the grand opening, cutting the ribbon and then giving 20 lucky subscribers the chance of getting a dance class with Her Madgesty in person on music by Paul Oakenfold.

“The Hard Candy gym has hand selected equipment, each piece being chosen by Madonna herself. She not only picked the machines, she also selected the graphics and the colors of the Hard Candy gym,” Fashion.ie informs.

“Madonna’s gym offers yoga classes and, of course, she had a hand in the choreography. She also handpicked the bamboo flooring which was imported from China and the Hard Candy yoga studio includes a Iyengar yoga wall and a Zen-like balcony,” the e-zine further notes.

Madonna explained that she chose to name her gym (which will turn into a line of gyms) after her latest album by the same name, which is a combination of “hard body” and “eye candy.”

“It’s a [beautiful] name that gives you the opportunity to have fun and to build strength as far as the imagination will allow,” the singer said of the name of the gym at the grand unveiling.

“If any of you have seen my shows, you know that I don’t skimp on them and the same is true for the gym. We spend what it takes to make a globally first-class gym,” the diva explained.

Of course, the location in Mexico City is, hopefully, just one of the many to follow because Madonna is thinking big with this.

“Our plan is to use Mexico as a place to fine-tune our brand and then expand it to other countries and, in the long term, develop a global brand that includes the United States,” the singer stated.
