Electronic Arts, the publisher of Madden NFL 11, has released a roster update for its football simulation title which introduces a huge number of changes to the players present in the video game, with no less than 232 players taken out of Madden and 165 added.

There are 40 players who have received rating changes, with EA Sports saying that Arian Foster, Mike Williams and Derek Anderson have gotten increases as the regular season begins while players like Kenny Britt and Devin Thomas have gotten decreases at the same time.

All the most recent trades are also included, making sure that players can play games that are as close to real life as possible.

The official list on the Madden NFL site tells gamers exactly what players have moved where, who is retired and who is added to the game. It's comprehensive and quite a long read.

EA Sports will continue to deliver updates for the team roster as the season progresses, but it could also opt to charge for the changes at some point.

EA Sports is also working on a new title update for Madden NFL 11, which is set to fix all the bugs and issues that players have highlighted since launch and to make the gameplay as smooth as possible.

The new football simulation from EA Sports has done well during the month of August, managing to sell more than 1.8 million units since launch date to take the number one spot in the NPD Group chart.

The best selling version was the one launched for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, but year over year the PlayStation 3 version managed to sell about 200,000 more copies.
