Mad Catz Interactive is a leading third-party video game accessory provider, but also publishes video game software, including the industry leading GameShark brand of video game enhancements. Their latest announcement concerns their renewed license agreement with Major League Baseball Properties to produce a new line of customized MLB team controllers and other related accessories.

Basically, Mad Catz will be rolling out new stylish controllers, faceplates and Console Skinz for all 30 MLB teams, each featuring the team's colors and logos. The products will be available for the following platforms:

- PlayStation2 - PlayStation3 - Xbox - Xbox 360 - PSP - Nintendo DS Lite - Nintendo Wii

That pretty much covers everything, if you ask me. What, you didn't think that the CameCube was getting anything from Mad Catz did you? One reason for this may very well be that the Cube has one of the best controllers in the world, plus it's obsolete, plus no more games are being ported to it. So why would they do anything to improve gameplay?

But then again, why would the Xbox 360 and PS3 need better controllers? Actually, they're better controllers for MLB, NBA and NFL, but why don't I let Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz confirm that to you:

"Professional sports licenses present Mad Catz with another opportunity to expand our product offerings and diversify our revenues. With our renewed Major League Baseball Properties license, we now have agreements in place to produce branded controllers and accessories for MLB as well as the NBA and NFL so that fans everywhere can show support for their favorite sports teams while they enjoy another favorite pastime, gaming," said Darren Richardson.

See Mad Catz' official site for more details and hope that they do something for Guitar Hero too, in the future. I don't know about you, but I can't get the pinky on that last button during gameplay, even if someone tortured me.
