14 DAY TRIAL // Mad Catz has chosen to launch several products in quick succession rather than delaying between each one, which means that the press release describing the S.T.R.I.K.E.7 Professional Gaming Keyboard was followed by another one yesterday.
The product we are going to look at here, and which already has a large and in-depth product page on Mad Catz' website, is called TRITTON PRO+ True 5.1 Surround Sound Headset.
It is an upgraded form, of sorts, of the TRITTON AX Pro and is compatible with Sony's and Microsoft's latest game consoles, not just PCs and Mac systems.
For those who don't own one of these things, that's the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, respectively.
Mad Catz, thankfully, didn't spray-paint the product in any blinding color, sticking to the nice and clean black and white combination instead.
That said, the headset boasts eight separate Neodymium drivers, four on each ear cup, for true Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound effect.
It also features in-line Remote and Selectable Voice Monitoring (SVM), a frequency response of 25Hz–22 kHz, optical audio input, a removable, flexible microphone and a USB cable.

Currently, Mad Catz is accepting TRITTON PRO+ True 5.1 Surround Sound Headset pre-orders from customers based in the United States ($199.99), Canada ($219.99 CA) and the United Kingdom (£149.99). Shipments will begin next month (September 2012). If and when EU countries get their share, the tag should be of 161-190 Euro.
