It definitely seems as though memory makers are in a race to see which of them comes out with the better RAM offering and how soon they can start selling it. For instance, Corsair and PQI have just shown off their respective DDR3 kits for the gaming and enthusiast market, much in the same way that Patriot and G.Skill did not long ago. Now, coming to make its own mark on the segment is Mach Xtreme, which, despite being a younger presence in this industry, seems to be ready to pack quite a punch with its ArmorX kits.

The Mach Xtreme ArmorX dual-channel memory kits are each made up of two 2GB modules, for a total of 4GB. They have support for XMP (Extreme Memory Profile), an operational voltage of 1.65V and and are ready to let any CPU go all the way to the top, and over it. There are, of course, some differences between the two pairs of modules. One dual-channel kit has a maximum frequency of 2,200 MHz and timings of 7-10-10-28, whereas the other operates at CL 8-11-8-28, but has a maximum speed of 2,300 MHz.

The cooling module employed by the RAM maker is that which gives the ArmorX kits their unique look. The HDT passive memory cooler is not just any heatspreader, but it actually has two copper heatpipes and an additional fin array positioned above the modules themselves.

“ARMORX is the ultimate performance memory solution within the MX Technology desktop Dual-Channel DDR3 memory product line. These modules are targeted and designed specifically for performance enthusiasts and all kits are strictly hand-selected with focus on top performance and high overclockability. Coupled with the ultra-efficient HDT passive cooler, the ARMORX kits are a must-have memory for every serious PC enthusiast,” the press release states.

The two DDR3 kits are accompanied by a three-year warranty. Unfortunately, the hardware maker didn’t give out any details on when they will debut, nor did it say what prices consumers should expect.
