WoW players are reporting a faster gameplay experience after installing the update from Apple

It has recently been discovered that Mac OS X 10.5.2. enables gamers, and especially World of Warcraft players, to get an overall better gameplay experience. Reports coming from WoW Insider and tuaw.com have revealed that World of Warcraft indeed plays faster after installing Apple's latest software update.

According to the same sources, while reader Jason's Mac played faster after installing the update, WoW Insider's Adam Holisky realized that WoW looked and felt a lot better than before, just after installing the update himself. FPSs jumped from 30 to 50 on the first-gen Intel iMac, packed with GB of memory and installed graphics update with 10.5.2. Take a look at the image on the left!

To support World of Warcraft's expanding population, Blizzard Entertainment has continuously released updates for its MMORPG as well. The fact that WoW now runs even faster on upgraders' Macs is a clear indication that Blizzard folks are also doing a very good job with the Mac version of the game, so if you're a Mac owner, be proud!

World of Warcraft has been the no. 1-selling MMORPG in North America since it launched in November 2004 and has steadily grown in popularity around the world. Following launches in Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Europe and China, World of Warcraft quickly garnered over 1.5 million paying customers in its first month in the wild. Shortly after the China launch, World of Warcraft made its debut in Singapore.

Towards the end of 2007, Blizzard Entertainment also announced that World of Warcraft was to be fully localised in Russia for release this year. The Russian version will be the fifth officially supported European language, complementing the existing English, French, German and Spanish versions.

As any gamer out there would do, I'm guessing that if you haven't upgraded by now, you're probably hurrying up to install 10.5.2. right away. It's right up there on the apple button, under the Software Update heading. This should translate to other games aside Blizzard's popular MMORPG, so if your favorite game behaves slightly better AU (after upgrade), let us know.
