At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation unveiled its first handset that packs HTC Sense 4.0 and Beats Audio, the HTC One X. The new device will arrive on shelves in the United States on the airwaves of wireless carrier AT&T in the coming months, running under the latest flavor of Google’s Android operating system, 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

When released in the United States, the new device will pack support for 4G LTE networks, along with a 4.7-inch 720p HD touchscreen (protected with Corning Gorilla Glass) and the next-generation 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor.

The mobile phone also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for full HD video recording.

Moreover, the HTC One X will arrive on shelves with HTC Sense 4 on board, with an enhanced Beats Audio experience and with a variety of camera improvements.

The new handset will be the first on AT&T’s network to feature Beats Audio By Dr. Dre integration. AT&T will deliver similar enhancements to its HTC Vivid users, and plans to bring Beats By Dr. Dre accessories this spring.

In addition to the usual set of connectivity options, including 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, the new mobile phone also features a 1,800 mAh battery inside.

"HTC One X is a true showcase for HTC's heritage of innovation providing our fastest camera, our best images even in the worst conditions and the ability to take video and photos at the same time," said Jason Mackenzie, president, global sales and marketing, HTC Corporation.

"I'm proud to bring these remarkable new experiences to AT&T customers with the HTC One X."

HTC One X will certainly prove a great device on AT&T’s network, yet it remains to be seen what price tag it will feature. For the time being, the company did not offer specific info on this, nor on the phone’s release date.

"Of course HTC One X is an outstanding device with the hottest specs," said David Christopher, chief marketing officer, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets.

"This device takes the power of those parts and creates a customer experience like no other, bringing superior hardware and sights and sounds to life."
