MSI's always prepped quite a few interesting surprises for each edition of the CeBIT show, and that seems to also be the case this year, when the company introduced, among other things, four new additions to its U and X series of notebooks.

So, the company's U series just got updated with the Wind U270 and U160MX models, while the ultra-portable, attractive X-Slim series also got two new models, namely the X370 and X460, each providing quite a few interesting features, whether we're talking about design-related or technical ones.

It's quite important to mention here that, out of the four new U and X series notebooks presented by MSI, two (the U270 and the X370) are built on AMD's E-350 Fusion APU, pointing out quite clearly the high level of popularity this platform is currently enjoying among computer manufacturers.

Naturally, the other two systems are built around Intel platforms, the Wind U160MX featuring the Atom N455 processor and supporting DDR3 memory, while requiring a very low amount of power in order to work.

Next in line comes the X-Slim X460 model that, without a doubt, is the most powerful of the batch, as it's based on a 2nd generation Intel Core i processor (Sandy Bridge platform), accompanied by an NVIDIA GeForce GT540M discrete GPU.

Of course, the four new notebooks from MSI also provide plenty of common features, whether we're talking about their cinema-class 16:9 ratio LED displays, HDMI and USB3.0 slots (the latter found just on the U270 and X460 models), or the i-Charger technology that accelerates recharge time for USB devices connected to the notebooks' ports.

Unfortunately, MSI's not provided any pricing and/or availability details for their new U and X series notebooks, but it's safe to say that they'll most likely make it to almost all European markets in the first half of 2011.
