A recent issue of Weekly Famitsu (Japan) says that Konami's celebrating the 20-year anniversary of the Metal Gear series, will mark the re-release of all the Metal Gear Solid games, including Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, for the PSP. The titles will be available either each for a separate price, or bundled - "Metal Gear 20th Anniversary."

And here they are, as IGN posts:

- Metal Gear Solid, PlayStation, 1500 yen ($12.35) - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, PlayStation 2, 1800 yen ($14.82) - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, PlayStation 2, 2800 yen ($23.05) - Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, PSP, 2800 yen ($23.05)

All four games bundled will retail for 6900 yen ($56.80) and they are set for a 26th July release. However, there's no word on any additional content, such as a DVD showing the game's development process, or how it all began. Wouldn't that be nice? It would, but some probably just hope for the titles to come to their territory and then worry about any additional content.

MGS is a stealth-based game directed by Hideo Kojima and developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan. It was first published for the original PlayStation console by Konami in 1998, soon becoming a huge hit, shipping more than six million copies worldwide and scoring an average of 94% in the review tallying website Metacritic's aggregate.

It would have sold more, but back then, kids modded their PlayStation consoles like crazy. And they worked just fine. Nowadays, it's more difficult.

OK, so on the 26th of July you'll be presented with the choice of either getting one of the four titles, (the original MGS game, Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater and Portable ops), or get the whole bundle to prove that you're the biggest fan. Well, not necessarily to prove that you're the biggest fan, but I'd personally take the bundle. I can only dream of Eidos doing the same with the Tomb Raider series...
