Keep in mind that Sony's working on the new PSP, so it could all add up

Don't start running and screaming just yet 'cause it's just an ad we're talking about here. Nothing has yet been made official. Not from Sony anyway. GameStop posts this superb looking ad - it's practically the dream of every teenage gamer to have all the stuff there - and is says, among others, that the PSP Value Pack is priced at $199. OK, up until now, the system with the same accessories available as a bundle, was priced at $249, at the same store.

The bundle includes: 32MB memory stick duo; headphones/remote control; battery pack; AC adapter; soft case cleaning cloth; music/video/game video sampler UMD.

Currently, it's nothing but an ad or probably a promotional price drop for Sony's handheld gaming system but that's what it reads and I got it straight from the official site so don't worry about this being a mugged photo or anything like that. So something is definitely happening. And it's what we'd expect by now really. It was about time the PSP had a price drop too and if it turns out to be true, I might just get one myself. I'm not that in love with handhelds over the big systems that one plugs wires into - I really don't mind them honest - and I'm not on the move that much either, but I certainly could use one as much as the next fellow.

There is something else however that gamers should keep in mind about Sony's portable device: the company is working on releasing the improved, lighter PSP (or PSP2 if they decide to call it that). It all adds up. Either way, the big screen will not be touched, as they promised. So what's it going to be? Get the old PSP - that will more than sure get a price drop, if not now then later and if not at GameStop then elsewhere - or wait for Sony to deliver the new and improved PSP? Let's just wait and see if the ad's for real, for starters.
