14 DAY TRIAL // Ryan Cleary, the individual considered responsible for running the IRC channels used by the LulzSec group, was put back in jail for breaking his bail conditions.
Cleary was initially arrested in June 2011, being accused of hacking the websites of the Serious Organized Crime Agency (SOCA), International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Soon after his arrest, the court decided to grant him bail, mostly because he was suffering from the Asperger’s syndrome, the same disease that the famous Gary McKinnon was diagnosed with.
However, the court granted him bail with the condition that Cleary wouldn’t be allowed to use any type of device that was connected to the Internet.
The Inquirer reports that he broke the condition when he emailed Hector Xavier Monsegur, better known as Sabu, last Christmas.
As a result, he was placed under custody once again on March 5, one day before the rest of the LulzSec crew was arrested.
More recently, a group of hackers decided to take upon themselves the LulzSec name to avenge the ones that were arrested, except for Sabu of course, who everyone now names a snitch.
But as it turns out, the Anonymous community doesn’t welcome the effort, naming the actions of LulzSec Reborn as being against everything that the hacktivists stand for.
“Supporters of the new ideal are being led on a wild goose chase and doing nothing but chasing that ever increasing void that plagues them, their freedom. Anonymous does not approve of this op and nor will it be tolerated. It goes against Anonymous' primary objectives,” an Anonymous representative told us.
