Sony prepares a lot of events

Sony is determined to raise its profile as a company by using Valentine's Day to stage a variety of events in the various games that it publishes and maintains. First, Media Molecule announced a downloadable pack for LittleBigPlannet featuring a new, more lovable SackBoy. Second, Sony Online Entertainment detailed its plans for its various MMOs for Valentine's Day.

Star Wars Galaxies, the only MMO based on Star Wars until the release of BioWare's The Old Republic, is getting a Ewok Festival. The events begin on February 10 and will last until March 10, allowing players to take on special quests that can lead to rewards like the Crossbow of Love, a unique weapon, which decreases the hate towards the player of all those hit. Sony is also saying that the MMO will feature chocolate fountains and dancing Ewoks.

In Everquest II, players will celebrate Valentine's Day as Erollisi Day, which began on February 10 and will end on February 17. The game has a goddess of love, in the person of Erollisi and players will take on quests on her behalf and her various representatives. These quests will lead to players getting the trust of the Sisters of Erollisi and gamers might even acquire more information related to get disappearance. The title will also feature “love loot” in the form of love notes and candles, which can be exchanged for currency or put together into recipes for Valentine's Day.

In Legends of Norrath, players will be offered a new Erollisi Day scenario set to run from February 12 to March 9. Players can get rewards in the form of a promo card, Erollisi Charm, or of two other loot cards.

The Star Wars Galaxies Trading Card Game will also see the debut of a Ewok Festival of Love going from February 10 to February 16. Players can get a Lady Valarian promo card and a small indoor fountain loot card.
