And a nice little SackBoy

Media Molecule and Sony, as the developer and publisher, are announcing that they plan to release a free DLC pack for LittleBigPlanet especially timed for the Valentine's Day festivities. The LittleBigPlanet Valentines Day Theme pack has been created in an effort to allow gamers to express their feelings for their significant other without having to resort to the tired old cliches of candy, flowers and candle-lit dinners.

A post on the PlayStation official blog details the contents of the package. All those who have bought LittleBigPlanet can get their hands on a wide variety of stickers and decorations that can be placed in user created levels in order to transmit a loving feeling. The pack also contains the McLovin SackBoy costume, which is pictured in the image attached to this article. Ain't he lovable?

It's nice to see that someone is releasing something related to Valentine's Day that is free as this is normally a day that everybody seems to want to monetize in all possible ways. If you are looking for more Valentine's Day videogame-related material, be sure to look at these wonderful Left 4 Dead-themed cards that you can send to your loved one (be sure he or she knows what the game is all about!).

The guys at Media Molecule are also reminding LittleBigPlanet fans that the Groundhog Day costume is only available for a limited time so they should head over to the PlayStation Store to snap it up.

LittleBigPlanet might just have been the biggest release on the PlayStation 3 of 2008. The game is a platformer at heart, offering an interesting visual style and a challenging single player portion. But the real soul of the game lies in the powerful editor, which allows all players to create new levels that can then be shared. The title did not move a lot of units initially, but sales have been solid as time went on, and more players discovered its possibilities.
