Capcom launches the second map pack of the three announced

January 12, 2007 marked a happy day for Xboxers in North America and PAL regions as Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition had finally launched after a long waiting period on their behalf. As the game really takes full advantage of Xbox 360's processing power (not just saying that like you see posted everywhere), Lost Planet contains an unrivaled level of detail. Advanced light sourcing is used to ensure a realistic presentation, while enormous world maps unfold as players battle the menacing creatures, during blistering weather conditions, throughout vast snow fields and deserted cities, on foot or with armed vehicles.

This last part is in fact exactly what sells Extreme Condition. Thus, Capcom decided to release two more downloadable multiplayer levels, both of which are due for release on Xbox Live Marketplace on 6th April, this Friday, as Eurogamer says. One of the maps, entitled Hive Complex, is some sort of abandoned mine with a series of puzzle-like tunnels and bridges fought over on a war-torn mountainside. The other, Trial Point, is more of a modern fighting zone - an office complex set against a city center backdrop. Both of them will drain your Microsoft resources of 400 Points. They go in pair, so if you're thinking about your available 200 points, you'd better go ahead and start achieving some more.

I'm sure nobody even remembers this but Capcom previously announced their intentions to release three sets of map packs: - the first included is Radar Field and Island 902 and it was released on March 9th, 2007 for 400 Microsoft Points; - the second map pack is the one we're currently talking about though it was announced for an April 6th release for 400 Microsoft Points (guess Wikipedia was wrong, or Capcom canceled that date); - the third map pack has no release date at this time, though it is said to contain Battleground, which is only available in the limited edition, but with the third pack, it will be given out for free.

Until gamers can worry about the third map pack, I suggest that they try everything in their power to get this second one, including Hive Complex and Trial Point, which if you take a look at the gallery, they'll simply take your breath away. That's 360 power right there.
