At one point, Lisa Rinna’s lips were almost as famous as she was, and she wasn’t happy about it: so, in August this year, the star went under the knife again to fix her botched upper lip.

Speaking to People magazine, who is now promoting both a new reality show and a book, says that her upper lip was so swollen because she made the rash decision of having silicone injected when she was younger.

The result was the infamous pout that got her so much criticism with the media, and especially with the public in online communities.

Sick and tired of all that, and in a bid to fix that which she ruined so many years ago, Lisa decided it was time to go back on her word of never having surgery again.

Consequently, she scheduled herself for surgery on her lip – and, though the results are not yet visible, she says she’s quite happy about how it turned out.

“My lips started to define who I am. That bothered me,” the actress tells People about her decision to have more work done.

The admission must have clearly cost her dearly, since she has the rather unpleasant experience of what happened the last time she was honest about the work she’d done on her body.

“Public reaction to her plastic surgery confession last year also upset her – after finally admitting that in 1986 she had silicone injected into her upper lip – an impulsive decision she made with a girlfriend and likens to getting a tattoo,” People writes.

The admission, it seems, gave everyone green light to publicly thrash her and of course she wasn’t happy about it.

“I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings,” says the star.

However, from now on, Lisa is determined to not let people get her down, which is why she doesn’t worry that much about how bloggers or readers might criticize her for her latest surgery-related decision.

“It doesn’t matter what other people think. I did it for myself,” she says. “[It’s no longer] bumpy and uneven… my lip has no lumps! It’s smooth. It’s a work in progress, but I feel fantastic,” Lisa says.
