May is shaping up to be an important month for those who enjoy a bit of karaoke on the Xbox 360, as Microsoft is getting ready to release 15 new tracks to its Lips videogame.

The songs are set to arrive all throughout the month and will cost 160 Microsoft Points each, with only the three songs from New Edition being bundled in a pack that will sell for 440 Microsoft Points.

The tracks are set to come in waves, in order not to overwhelm the music assimilation possibilities of gamers. As of May 1, you can get: Good Charlotte - Dance Floor Anthem (I Don't Want To Be In Love); Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me? and The Black Crowes - Hard To Handle.

On Friday, May 8, you can get another three tracks for Lips, with You Get What You Give from the The New Radicals leading the charge and with The Vapors providing the track Turning Japanese, while Coldplay provides the hit Clocks.

On May 15, players will also be able to download Take Me Home, Country Roads from John Denver and Mr. Telephone Man; Cool It Now; If It Isn't Love from New Edition. One week later, another three tracks will become playable: Lollipop from Mika; Achy Breaky Heart from Billy Ray Cyrus and 100 Years from Five For Fighting.

At last, on May 29, Lips players can get access to another three tracks, with the best known being I Miss You from Blink-182, which is joined by Ronan Keating singing Life Is A Rollercoaster and by the underground hit Chasing Cars from Snow Patrol.

Lips is not competing directly with music game giants like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, because it does not focus on the whole band but only on the lead singer. The game is aimed at more casual gamers, who enjoy their music and want to try replicating the performances of some of their idols. Microsoft is saying that more tracks will be made available for Lips in time.
