Lindsay Lohan, once a highly popular name with directors and movie studios, is now barely making ends meet – if one is to believe ongoing reports in the media. Following several unfortunate choices in terms of movie roles, it seems that the freckled star has yet to learn to see a good deal when it’s sitting in front of her, as X17 Online says she turned down an offer for a part in “The Hangover.”

For those not in the know, this is not only a comedy that is considered incredibly smart and witty, but also a massive hit with audiences worldwide. As of now, “The Hangover” made $205 million at the box-office, and word in the industry has it a sequel is already in the works. Lohan, it seems, was offered the role of the exotic dancer that eventually went to Heather Graham and that will get even more onscreen time in the sequel. She turned it down because she did not like the script, the paparazzi agency says, citing unnamed inside sources.

“Linds was offered the role of Jade in ‘The Hangover,’ but she turned down the gig because she thought the screenplay ‘had no potential.’ After Linds passed on the role, Heather Graham snapped it up, and it looks like her character will have an even larger role in the rumored Hangover sequel. The flick has earned $205 million to date, so you can bet Heather walked away with a pretty decent paycheck... Director Todd Phillips reportedly asked Linds to star in the summer blockbuster after their mutual agent pushed for him to hire the 23-year-old starlet.” X17 says in one of today’s posts.

Apparently, it was no easy job getting Phillips to consider Lohan for the part, especially since her reputation as an actress these days is not quite what it used to be a few years ago. Therefore, the shock was huge when, after getting the director to consider Lindsay for an audition, the agent learned she did not like the script and would not even be going to audition for the part, says the same source.

As we also reported yesterday, Lindsay’s legal troubles have yet to come to an end, as a Florida-based chemist has just filed a lawsuit against her claiming she was robbed of the formula on which Lohan based her Sevin Nyne self-tanning mist. Court documents accuse the star of alleged breach of contract, civil conspiracy, deceptive and unfair trade practices, theft of trade secrets, and intentional interference with contractual relations.
