Lindsay Lohan opens up in first televised interview since rehab: “I miss being on set”

For the first time since she left rehab and has been slapped with the grand theft charge, for which she’s now standing trial, Lindsay Lohan speaks. The star sat down with Extra for a two-part interview. You can see the first one embedded at the end of the article.

Lindsay claims she’s innocent and that she didn’t steal the $2,500 gold necklace she’s accused of stealing, but that’s not a point she tries to make in the first part of the interview.

Either because she’s not allowed to talk about the case just yet or because she simply doesn’t want to get into that, Lindsay focuses mostly on topics like her life post-rehab, her career and what she misses more about her life from some years ago.

Her fans must be painfully aware that, for some years, Lohan’s career as an actress has come to a complete standstill, after doing several straight-to-DVD critically-panned movies and acting very unprofessional.

She knows her personal life has cast her career in a corner of shade but she’s determined to change that. Lindsay doesn’t like the attention she gets from the paparazzi and the media, because she’s in the industry to act and not be a tabloid figure, she says.

“Great films, tell great stories. That’s what I aspired to do my whole life, and personal instances in my life have gotten in the way,” she says of her plans for the future.

“But I don’t want that to be what I am known for, the tabloid stuff, that’s not me. I don’t like the attention. I want my attention to come through my films and the work I am doing, not from going to the hair salon,” Lindsay adds.

Right this instant, though, staying sober occupies most of her time. She knows only too well she has to work hard to earn the trust of industry people again and she’s set not to disappoint them and her fans again.

“I feel great. I feel happy. There’s always things, you know, bumps we have in the road and as long as I am focusing on the one thing I need to put first in my life, which is my recovery and stuff, and I’m doing good and that’s most important for me,” Lindsay explains.
