A while back, Lily Allen announced that she would be taking a break from the music industry as early as March this year, when she’d be done with her contractual obligations. At the same time, she also said she would no longer be keeping in touch with her fans via Twitter or read blogs or listen to music online, severing all ties with technology for a chance at “normal” life. As of today, Lily is back on Twitter.

Not only that, but she’s also determined to get back into better shape after packing on a few extra pounds. Fans of the singer will know that she’s always had some issues with her weight and that she could never maintain her figure for too long. One year ago, for instance, she was in top shape but now she’s somewhat heavier. Because of this, Lily has decided to get back into the gym.

“hello, I’m back.... Just got back from aus, and I had a wonderful time,” Lily wrote, breaking her 5-month Twitter silence. “Setting up my new office in London, got some really exciting stuff to share with you. so watch this space x xx x. For now though, I’m off to the gym. Went to India over xmas, and the clarified butter has made its way from my tummy to my thighs. eeuuggh,” the singer goes on to say.

A little over a year ago, when Lily had finally managed to get very fit, word in the media had it that she did with a combination of eating right, going to the gym and a little thing called hypno-dieting, which is apparently a very hot commodity with stars right now. At the same time, Allen also started living healthier, quitting smoking and reducing alcohol consumption to a minimum. Unfortunately, she was back to her old ways in months ago, including back on junk food and forgetting about working out.

“[Hypno-dieting] os very big in LA and New York and it’s becoming increasingly popular in London. During sessions, I taught Lily to favor healthy, low-fat meals instead of junk food. And to see that alcohol isn’t a confidence booster, it’s just extra calories that sabotage your efforts to get a good body,” Susan Hepburn, a Harley Street hypnotist, was saying for the British media, as we also informed you back then.
