Lian Li, a company well renowned for its high-quality aluminum PC enclosures, has just announced the release of a new full-tower case, the PC-90 “Hammer,” which can fit motherboards using the impressive HPTX form factor.

This capability makes the Hammer an interesting option for users interested in building a server or workstation solution, especially when considering that the whole case weights no more than 6.6Kgs.

Outside of its low weight, the PC-90 also isn't much larger than other full-tower PC enclosures and can easily find its place under a desk, unlike most other HPTX solutions available on the market right now.

In order to achieve this feat, Lian Li had to redesign the insides of the Hammer and went with an vertically mounted HDD tray, which enables the entire back of the case to be used for holding the motherboard.

This setup allows for up to 12 storage drives to be installed (six 3.5-inch and six 2.5-inch), while also allowing “The Hammer” to support video cards measuring up to 400mm in length.

As far as ventilation is concerned, Lian Li has fitted its latest creation with two 140mm front fans blowing cool air directly over the motherboard and VGA card, as well as with a rear 120mm fan.

The rest of the features list includes, washable air filters, liquid cooling holes, an additional top fan mount, a removable front panel, rubber anti-vibration strips and vented PCI Brackets. A pair of USB 3.0 ports and an eSATA connector are also available right below the two ODD trays.

Lian Li hasn't provided us with any information regarding the price, or the release date, of the PC-90 “Hammer” computer chassis. The company did however reveal that the case will be available in black or silver.
