Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll is the ninth member of the Super Monkey Ball family, if you include the original arcade game. The title will be developed for the Wii and will be the second in the series for this particular Nintendo platform. Step & Roll promises to return to the roots of the arcade and GameCube original releases of the franchise. With Surprises prepared at every corner, Super Monkey Ball Step & Roll is expected to come out in February 2010.

The game will be based on key features that have proven to be so successful in the past, but will also bring something new to the table. As such, it will feature intuitive controls that will make use of the new Wii Balance Board but will also support the more traditional Wii Remote and Nunchuk setup. Moreover, it will also feature a multiplayer co-op mode for the single player or for the mini games versus, and will accommodate up to four players. New levels have been designed, with a variety of background settings but also with different difficulty levels, for all gamers to enjoy. The mini games featured will include Monkey Bowling, Monkey Race and Seesaw Ball, to name a few.

The game was born in 2001 when it was released as an upright arcade cabinet called simply Monkey Ball. Later that year it was among the three original Nintendo GameCube releases. Later iterations came to Nintendo's GameCube Advance, DS, PSP and to the N-Gage, iPhone PlayStation2 and Xbox 360. Other titles of the series include the Super Monkey Ball, Super Monkey Ball 2, the Deluxe, JR, Touch & Roll, Adventure and Banana Blitz.

The game was well received along the years by gamers and turned to be a perfect fit for the party-game market. This title seems to rise to the reputations of previous releases and will provide countess hours of goofing around with your friends in front of the television.
