14 DAY TRIAL // It’s not the kind of present a woman would expect from a man as a sign of commitment but, considering what a dedicated environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio is, it more than makes sense. The actor bought Blake Lively a Toyota Prius.
A recent report in the Daily Mail claims the actor chose to continue showering his girlfriend of a few months with unexpected gifts – so he offered her the $40,000 eco-friendly car.
Admittedly, he made the decision to give her a Prius after he saw the kind of car she was driving around town and knowing only too well the impact it had on the environment.
“The Inception star was said to be horrified that the actress was driving around Los Angeles in a gas guzzling Range Rover,” the Mail writes.
“DiCaprio, who runs his own foundation promoting environmental issues, is said to have bought Lively a black Prius costing over $40,000,” adds the tab.
“The eco friendly hybrid car gets up to 50 miles to the gallon compared to an average of 20 for the Range Rover. DiCaprio is well known in Hollywood for pushing green causes,” the Mail further notes.
Two years ago, Leonardo arrived on the red carpet at the Oscars in one such green cars, while also being among the first celebrities to buy a Prius.
However, that’s not to say that he only offers Blake gifts because he wants her to be greener than she was before she met him.
A report from June this year, coming out shortly after the two were first spotted together as a couple at the Cannes Film Festival, claimed that, on one of their many trips around the world, Leo bought her designer items worth a whopping $70,000.
These included designer clothes, accessories and, of course, shoes and handbags – just the right way to win Blake’s heart, known as one of the most promising fashionistas of her generation.
