The device will be a 3G smartphone with no camera

Surfing around the internet, we have found a leaked roadmap document from Vodafone, that shows a picture of their v1210, the promise of the first Mid-Tier MS Smartphone and a list of not so impressive specifications. The handset is a tri-band GSM/GPRS/3G, running Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone, with AKU 2.6, on an Intel 300 Mhz processor.

It features a generous 2.2 inch QVGA TFT LCD display, a microSD memory card expansion slot, 128 MB ROM , 64 MB RAM, and offers connectivity through Infrared, USB and Bluetooth 1.2.

You wonder why I am so mean and call its features not impressive? Because, for starters, this smartphone seems to have lost his camera, so "good bye" video calling for 3G users (I'm talking here about those not using their 3G phone just for web browsing, users that look at a camera just as another thing that makes their phone heavier). Secondly, why choose the Bluetooth 1.2, the poorer relative of the 2.0? I guess they did this just to follow Morse's law that says bad things always come in pairs (no camera and Bluetooth 1.2 do make a very nice pair of drawbacks for a 3G smartphone these days).

These being said, the phone will most probably be released sometime in October, but there is no word about the store prices.
