The SGH-i610 mobile is a tri-band device (900/1800/1900 Mhz). The phone uses the UMTS 2100 MHz band (the standard 3G frequency used in Europe and Asia), and for the non-3G it features GPRS and EDGE.

i610 seems to be a D830 design replica, but the i610 has a camera located on the back of the case. The only thing that could impress is seen when the clamshell device is open: the SureType QWERTY, a feature for the users who need faster text input.

The device is Samsung's first clamshell smartphone running the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system.

Regardless the fact that it features Bluetooth connectivity, the device lacks Wi-Fi. Let's hope this won't make it less desirable for the customers.

A release date hasn't been made public by Samsung yet, but the tri-band device will surely be released in Europe, and perhaps in some parts of USA too.
