With NVIDIA having finally launched its DirectX 11-capable graphics adapter, end-users are holding their breath in anticipation of as many custom-designed models as possible, since competition always enables consumers to hope for price reductions. Already EVGA, Palit, MSI and Gigabyte have unveiled their respective GTX 400 collections. Now, after its cards were revealed by a series of leaked photos, Leadtek has also stepped up to announce its GTX 470 and GTX 480.

Leadtek's models go by the names of WinFast GTX 470 and GT 480. The former has 448 CUDA cores, 1280MB GDDR5 VRAM, a memory interface of 320 bits and its GOU, shaders and memory clocked at 607MHz, 1,215MHz and 3,348MHz, respectively. The GTX 480, as end-users know well by now, is more powerful, with 480 CUDA cores and its GPU/shaders/memory running at 700/1,401/3,696MHz. This card has 1,536MB GDDR5. Both models feature support for DirectX 11 (obviously), PhysX, CUDA, 3D Vision Surround and three-way SLI.

“The WinFast GTX 480/470 graphics card is not only able to provide a world-class gaming experience, but it also features new high-speed 32x anti-aliasing, which smoothes the edges for top-notch visual quality. From jaw-dropping PhysX technology and stereoscopic 3D Vision Surround technology to lightning fast gaming effects processing, all accelerated by the GPU, the WinFast GTX 480/470 graphics card does it all with mind-blowing performance. Supporting NVIDIA CUDA technology, the WinFast GTX 480/470 series is empowered to accelerate many high-performance applications or transcoding of video to a personal video player and deliver more dynamic and ultra-realistic performance,” the press release notes.

It has become apparent that, like its competitors, the hardware maker decided to keep to the stock specifications, which means that the company's marketing strategy and its products' prices will be the only defining factors in the cards' marketing performance. Both WinFast GTX 479 and GTX 480 will start shipping on April 12, at prices of 470 Euro and 349 Euro, respectively.
