To differ from other models through aesthetic design

There is little doubt that the currently most hyped products are NVIDIA's DirectX 11 graphics cards, a fact proven again and again by the significant attention that even the smallest leaks related to Fermi got. This hype is also the reason why web entities have been doing their best to gain access to any information related to the adapters. Now, after the cards' specs have been found out and the infamous adapters have finally made their debut, photos of Leadtek's own models have emerged.

The two photos show a GeForce GTX 470 and a GTX 480 that are not exactly different from the stock versions. In fact, the only modifications discernible are a few design changes, mainly meant to add some aesthetic value to the cards and the cooling mechanisms in particular. The actual build remains the same, but the cards have a few stickers that add some color meant to allow the card to stand out. When it comes to actual performance, however, the devices will likely stick to the reference specifications.

The GeForce GTX 470 will have 448 CUDA cores, the GF100 GPU clocked at 607MHz, a shader frequency of 1,215MHz and 1,280MB GDDR5 VRAM with an interface of 384 bits. The more powerful GTX 480 has a GPU frequency of 700MHz, 480 CUDA cores, a shader frequency of 1,401MHz and 1,536MB GDDR5 that has a 384-bit interface and is clocked at 3,696MHz. Both devices have one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express power connectors, support CUDA, SLI and 3D Vision Surround technology and have dual DVI and HDMI outputs.

Both of Leadtek's graphics adapters should be launched soon, considering that cards from NVIDIA's partners have practically been showing up one after another. Prices should be of $349 for the GTX 470 and of $499 for the GTX 480.
