LeAnn Rimes and husband Eddie Cibrian have long agreed to open the doors of their home for a camera crew, shooting footage that will be included in a new reality series that premieres this summer. Talking about the new project, LeAnn says it’s “like every other reality show” out there.

VH1 has picked up the series, called Eddie & LeAnn, and has already released a first trailer for it earlier this month. An exact air date is yet to be announced, but we do know that it will be this summer.

In a new interview to promote it, the controversial duo promise huge surprises for fans, in that the show will reveal a side of them that no one has ever had access to, even though they’re tabloid fixtures.

“It's like every other reality show. There’s a lot of heart to it but there’s also a lot of laughs. Eddie and I are very much that way in our relationship. We have a lot of humor between the two of us and give each other [expletive] a lot, so you see that,” LeAnn says for Us Weekly.

“People read about us constantly and it's so opposite of who we are. I think people really think we take ourselves seriously. It's so opposite of that but no one ever gets to see it. Other than the reason of us wanting to work together and be home with the kids, why not have fun and poke fun at everything that's gone on for the last five years,” she continues.

The reason people read so much about them is because, 5 years ago, Eddie cheated on his ex-wife Brandi Glanville with LeAnn, who was also married at the time. Their affair was exposed in the media after they were photographed making out at a restaurant and, as their respective marriages imploded, they set out to make a life together.

This is also why they’re tabloid fixtures today, having handled their extramarital affair with very little consideration towards their respective exes. The fact that they continue to fight with Glanville whenever the chance arises, wherever that might happen (be it on social media or in the press), also helps, of course.

However, the gist of the story is that LeAnn is describing her new project in terms of “like every other reality show” out there, when, a few months back, she referred to it by the name of “script-ality,” a series inspired by events in their life with a comedic turn that wasn’t necessarily their own reality.

That was before VH1 picked up the series, when she was promoting it in the hope of getting a network interested in it. Back then, LeAnn made it a point of distancing herself and her show from the rest of reality shows which, we all know, are scripted to a more or less significant extent.
