Almost a year after LeAnn Rimes confirmed she and husband Eddie Cibrian had agreed to let cameras inside their house to film a new reality series, we have the first official trailer for it. Actually, as you can see from the video below, it’s not so much of a trailer as it’s an assortment of scenes of the two in various situations.

The first scene shows the two in bed, gushing about the joys of married life and how they’re not ready yet to have a kid. Ironically, an infant can be heard crying from the other room, but viewers don’t meet him until the next scene, in which LeAnn and two lady friends, the mother of the baby among them, talk about LeAnn having kids.

They’re sitting by the pool enjoying snacks and the singer who, just moments before was heard saying she wasn’t ready yet for babies, comes clean about how she really does want them but Eddie needs some more convincing.

The third scene included in this trailer is of a boys’ outing, with Eddie and two friends talking about married vs. single life and how things have changed in the dating game because of the Internet. Eddie seems confused that the other two think he’d have much more success with the ladies than them, because all he’d have to do was show his dimples.

The series, which will be called Eddie & LeAnn, will premiere this summer on VH1 and, from what we can make from the trailer, it will be a Kardashian-style reality show. After all, we’ve heard LeAnn talk about their baby plans before, either saying they had decided to wait a bit more, or hinting that they couldn’t get on the same page on the topic.

So this brings us to the question of the actual nature of the series. Some time ago, asked how come she’d decided to do a “reality show,” LeAnn said that this wasn’t the best description for the project she and Eddie were working on because she would rather we called it a “script-ality.”

“We’ll take things out of our lives and elaborate them and make them funny. People have been laughing at us – we want them to laugh with us! What they read is what they see. We want to be able to take control of our lives again so we want to do a show about us, about our lives, but scripted,” LeAnn explained.

So basically, what we see with the first trailer isn’t “reality,” even understood loosely, as the term used in television, but scripted programming, inspired by LeAnn and Eddie’s married life. The mind truly boggles.

Either way, we’ll see more this summer or perhaps even sooner, when VH1 will release a new trailer.
