If you somehow consider that the Nintendo Wii console doesn't have enough sport-related games, there is no need to worry anymore, since during the E3 media summit, cdv announced plans to release a brand new casual title exclusively for the motion sensing console. The title will be brought to you under the name of Lawn Games and it is set to ship during the first quarter of 2009.

The release will offer no less than eight popular outdoor classics like Croquet, Volleyball, Badminton, Tetherball, Bocce Ball, Lawn Darts, Horseshoes, and Lawn Dice and each game will offer full Wiimote support promised to be easy to be handled by even the "most casual" players - which means, in other words, that the game will be simple to tears. If that's good or bad - it's up to you to decide.

Lawn Games is under development at Austin-based studio Mock Science and it is a title that looks like any other Wii one: childish, colorful and ready to keep the entire family hooked for hours. We'll have eight distinct backyard environments to play in, as well as completely customizable cartoon characters to represent us in-game. Also, since everybody loves a bit of these, unlockable items such as yard decorations, furniture, additional characters and customization options will be available throughout the game, making it more challenging.

The developers promise that the game is so easy to play and similar to what we're doing in real life that it has absolutely no learning curve. Full WiFi support further ensures gamers can compete with others from around the world for the ultimate challenge, including an online tournament mode which can be customized for up to 32 players. Everything you have to do now is go outside, choose one of the games you want to master and start practicing it.
