Naughty Dog and Sony are announcing that today is the last day during which fans of the Uncharted series can get their hands on a special edition of the upcoming sequel by simply playing the demo for it. Gamers will need to download the demo, available on the PlayStation Network for all, log on with their player identity, get into the matchmaking interface and then join a game.

This automatically enters the player into a draw that can get them one of the ten copies of the Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition. The winners will be announced on the official PlayStation blog and on the official site of developer Naughty Dog on October 19. Further details related to the contest are offered by Sony on its website.

The Fortune Hunter edition of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is set to offer players the complete experience of the game. In addition to the contest of the normal edition, they also get an art book showing the evolution of the areas the player explores and of the player characters over the development period, a voucher that will allow the buyer to get a piece of downloadable content for free and a life size replica of the Phurba Dagger, an object central to the story line of the videogame.

Sony announced the Fortune Hunter edition at the PAX videogames show but said that it would not be available for sale and that fans could only obtain it by competing in certain contests that the company announced before and after the release of the title.

Those players who do not win the Fortune Hunter edition of Uncharted 2 today can pay close attention to Sony announcements related to other contests. The PlayStation 3 exclusive is shaping up to be one of the most interesting games of the year, initial reviews being very positive.
