Lady Gaga is clearly the hottest pop artist of the moment – and proof of that can also be the massive interest people have in her online. By releasing such controversial and highly original videos like “Poker Face,” “Bad Romance” and “Just Dance,” Gaga has set a new record, becoming the first ever to pass one billion total views online, the Huffington Post says, citing a report by Visible Measures.

The analytics company looked at the number of views Gaga’s videos draw on websites like YouTube, Vevo, MTV and Viacom and has come up with the conclusion that she is the first to pass the one-billion mark. Close behind her is the film franchise “The Twilight Saga” (which got millions of views for the official trailers in just hours) and Soulja Boy. The vampire series of films has a total of 980 million, while Soulja Boy is coming close behind with 860 million.

“Lady Gaga is so popular that she belongs to a club of one – herself. According to online analytics company Visible Measures, Lady Gaga has made internet history by racking up more than 1 billion total views for just three of her music videos posted online. The company maintains a list that it calls ‘The 100 Million Views Club.’ It’s populated by ‘franchises’ and online videos that have achieved at least 100 million views and according to the Visible Measures, Gaga is the first to join the ‘The Billion Views Club’,” the Post writes.

“The firm reports that the total number of views for Gaga’s music videos ‘Poker Face’ (374,606,128 views), ‘Bad Romance’ (360,020,327) and ‘Just Dance’ (272,941,674) make her the ‘most watched franchise in history’,” the same report goes on to say. Gaga’s latest video, the one for her collaboration with Beyonce, “Telephone,” may have also contributed to her being the first to join the exclusive “Club,” since Vevo reports that it is responsible for 25 percent of its entire number of views. This, of course, translates into many millions of views since release almost two weeks ago.

Even more, Gaga has no plans of stopping here either. As we were also telling you earlier today, the singer is already back to work, enlisting famed fashion photographer Steven Klein as a collaborator for the video for her next single, which will reportedly be “Alejandro.”
