It’s nearly two weeks that Lady Gaga released her latest video, for “Telephone” with Beyonce, a 9-minute visual extravaganza that got many outraged and even more ecstatic, but the singer is already back to work. Vogue magazine has learned that Gaga is in the initial stages of making a new video, for which she has enlisted famed photographer Steven Klein.

As per the fashion magazine, Gaga will release “Alejandro” as her next single and, this time too, she wants to come out with something that blows fans and critics away. Known for a clear penchant of working with people connected to the fashion industry, for the upcoming vid, Gaga has contracted Klein, though in what capacity he’ll be featured on the video is not known yet.

“Having released the most talked-about music video since MTV hit our screens, Lady Gaga intends to carry on the momentum of her Telephone outing with Beyonce by enlisting noted fashion photographer Steven Klein to direct the video for her upcoming single Alejandro, WWD reports. Klein is a favourite of Gaga’s idol Madonna, and shot her in her two Dolce & Gabbana campaigns this season, but has also photographed famous couples – including the infamous Sixties-inspired shoot for W Magazine featuring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shortly after his divorce from Jennifer Aniston – as well as Victoria and David Beckham,” Vogue writes.

More details of the video are not available for the time being, though the magazine points out fans should expect to see the singer “at her most dramatic,” given the tone of the song. What is certain though is that, like with most recent Gaga releases, this video too is bound to cause a stir, for one reason or another. The “Telephone” vid, for instance, started some of the oddest rumors to date (that she’s an Illuminati puppet) and got famous people criticizing her work. One such person is film director Michel Gondry.

“I’m not interested. To me it’s like a form of Marilyn Manson. It’s hard for me to talk about it; I’ve seen a couple of videos of hers, and not for very long. I stop watching them each time because I don’t think there’s melodies. I’m sorry to be negative. [...] It’s just surface! I don’t know, maybe the comparison is ridiculous. But the melody was very, very flat. That’s probably why they are famous. But maybe it’s considered high art just because of the way she dresses?” Gondry was saying in a recent interview of Gaga, her music and her music videos.
