Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that fans of Rock Band will be able to pick up tracks from Juanes, the well known Latin music star, from the online store. This is the first time that Spanish language songs have been offered in the music simulation series, with the tracks available on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.

Juanes has managed to sell more than 12 million albums worldwide since his debut and there are critics who are comparing his work with that of Bruce Springsteen and Bono. The artist received 17 Latin Grammy Awards during his career up to now and Billboard recently awarded him the title of “Star of The Decade” for Latin music.

The downloadable content that players can get today includes the tracks: “A Dios le Pido”; “Fíjate Bien”; “Gotas de Agua Dulce”; “La Camisa Negra”; “Mala Gente” and “Yerbatero”, which is taken from his upcoming album. Each track can be downloaded for 160 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360 and 200 Wii Points, which is the equivalent of about 1.99 dollars and there's also the options of picking up the entire Juanes Pack01 for the price of 800 Microsoft Points or 4.99 dollars.

Juanes himself said that “I am thrilled to be the first Spanish-language artist in Rock Band. I’m excited for my fans to connect with the songs right in their living rooms and to bring Latin Music to new fans as well.”. Paul DeGooyer, the senior vice president of Electronic Games and Music at MTV, added, “Harmonix and MTV are proud to have the opportunity to bring this first taste of Spanish-language music to the Rock Band platform. We're delighted to be working with Juanes to help ensure that a whole new group of music fans can discover these incredible songs for themselves, in the most engaging and impactful way possible.”
