Proof that "more" is not "better"

LG has brought out for the public one handset truly meant to stand out. It has all it needs for impressing a high number of people, whether this happens through its appearance or due to its technical aspects.

There must be some people out there looking for this type of flashy, but cheap-looking handsets, otherwise producers would not release them along with all the confidence that they will become a success. LG iCool G700 manages to combine diamonds, metal back case, gold finish and a silvery front case look. That's a lot of different types of shine that any designer would disapprove of combining.

The clamshell phone features two keypads. One is placed on the front case, making LG iCool G700 look like a candybar button, while the other reveals itself only when the phone is opened. The inner keypad highly resembles that of Motorola RAZR phones, which brings another proof of LG's bad choice in design, as they have given up the struggle of finding an original button layout of their own.

The outer keypad is not too original either. This one resembles the Vertu line at a great extent and even adds a "V" shape also packed with jewels. There are actually two phones in one, which also means that the size of this device is larger than that of most handsets. LG iCool G700 is bulky, large and the jewels can't compensate for this.

The fact that it has two phone faces and separate performances means that it also comes with two SIM slots, one highly useful feature that many people have grown to appreciate lately. Most handset producers have managed to create such devices without having to make two different faces for each SIM, but it looks like the less comfortable solution has appealed greater for LG.

Both phones in this device come with 3G capabilities, although other performances have not been revealed by LG. No works on a release date or on a price that this "jewel" will come at.
