LG Star, the Android-based smartphone that made it to the headlines quite a few times lately, has just made another appearance into the wild, this time in a video hands-on, so that we can make a better idea of what this handset is all about.

There have been many rumors around regarding LG's attempt to come to the market with an Android-based smartphone that would be impressive enough to push it forth on the market, and the LG Star might just be it.

Whether the handset would indeed run under the next Android flavor or not, it remains to be seen. However, the one thing that seems to be certain at the moment is that it would pack an Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset inside.

Basically, this would offer it the possibility to deliver performance levels that a superior to existing Android devices on the market, such as the Galaxy S, and even to other handsets, including the Apploe iPhone 4, some suggest.

In addition to this dual core processor, the mobile phone also includes a 4-inch display, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper, and a front-facing camera, which should enable video chat.

Other specifications of the handset also include an HDMI port, along with a range of connectivity options like 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and more.

Following a series of various leaks on this device, we can now have the chance to take a better look at it, thanks to the video hands-on embedded below, courtesy of GSM-Israel.

The handset in the video can be seen running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, while being compared side-by-side with an iPhone 4.

Of course, there still are some details yet unknown on the new Android-based mobile phone, including info on when it would be released on the market, or at what price tag, but more on it should be unveiled soon.

Previous reports on the LG Star suggested that we might see it released sometime in early 2011.
