South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics was rumored not too long ago to plan the near release of a new high-end smartphone on the market, the LG Star, and some more details on it have just made an appearance into the wild.

The LG Star should land on shelves sometime next year with an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip inside, while running under Google's Android operating system.

The new photos that emerged with the device, available courtesy of Phandroid, were also capable of providing some more details on what the phone itself would offer to end users.

For example, there is an HDMI-out port included into the mix, a feature that was not known about before. At the same time, the shots show that the smartphone won't arrive with stick Android on board, but with a little tweaked version of the operating system.

At the moment, the OS on Star is said to be Froyo, but it might not be too long before LG decides to upgrade it to the next version of Android, namely Gingerbread.

Take a look at the photos attached to this article to learn some more info on how the device performs, as there is also shot displaying the score on quadrant.

In the meantime, we should have a look at the rest of the handset's specifications list, which includes a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset, or a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display on board.

Moreover, the upcoming device should arrive on shelves with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with 1080p HD video recording capabilities. A front-facing camera might have been included into the mix as well.

Rumor has it that the LG Star would be set to make an appearance on shelves sometime in early 2011, but no official confirmation on this emerged for the time being. However, more info on the matter should be unveiled soon, so keep an eye on this space for additional details. More photos are available at Phandroid.
